in Block MB-OSB-2004/ 1, also located offshore in the prolific Mumbai Basin and an equal interest in the onshore KG-ONN-2004/ 1 Block in the Krishna Godavari basin. The larger MB-OSB-2004/ 1 gas-prone block lies in the same water depths as MB-OSB-2004/ 2 and extends over an area of 1520 square km near the Tapti gas fields. Exploration work will involve shooting 740 square km of 3D seismic and the drilling of 3 wells to depths of 2500 metres. The operator is Gujarat State Petroleum.

KG-ONN-2004/ 1 Block lies on the eastern coast of India and covers an area of 1151 square km. Gujarat State Petroleum is the operator with a commitment to shoot 120 square km of 3D seismic and drill 5 wells to depths of 2500 metres. Petrogas partners in the blocks are GAIL India Limited, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. Exploration work programme will consist of acquiring 800 square km of 3D seismic and the drilling of three wells with target depths of 2500 metres. |
