MB LLC and its subsidiaries are committed to the societies where we operate, especially in our home base Oman. As a result, MB Foundation was created as an arm for giving back to society in a sustainable way for real change. MB Foundation was legally recognized by the Ministry of Social Development in 2011 to formalize MB Group companies’ philanthropic efforts and to carry out their charitable activities. For our resources to have the highest impact, the MB Foundation board has prioritized four main pillars, which all CSR activities operate under:

• Education of Omani Youth

• Women’s empowerment

• Citizens Health & Welfare

• Contribution to Civil Society

In the field of education for youth, MB LLC sponsored the second ‘Omani Student Expo’ held at the German University of Technology. The exhibition gave students on international scholarships a platform to present their innovative projects and academic research in the fields of science & mathematics, health & environment, and engineering to an audience of potential investors and employees.

MB also sponsored the Ministry of Education’s 2019 Omani Teacher’s day celebration, which was an event dedicated to empowering teachers and celebrating their role as educators that the country depends on.

MB collaborated with the Ministry of Manpower’s efforts to evolve vocational training in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, where MB provided robot machines for the MoM’s vocational training center, which aims to provide trainees with skills they need in the workforce.

In the field of community and women’s empowerment, MB visited the child care center in Al Khoudh on the occasion of Monther’s day. Dr. Dhishaan Al Shanfari, Chief Medical Officer at MB, gave a lecture on women’s general health.

Similarly, we provided the ‘Omani Women’s Association’ with embroidery and sewing machines. The objective was to further promote entrepreneurship amongst women, enabling them to learn a new craft and to create sustainable income for themselves.

In the field of Citizen Health and Welfare, PG E&P in 2020 signed a 3-year agreement with the Association for Early Intervention to provide a woodworking workshop, which the association can then use to craft tools for children with disabilities, instead of having to purchase such tools at a high cost.

In 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic starting across the world, MB Group helped purchase and deliver medical equipment to Khasab Health Center using the Al Sharqiyah Helicopter. The move allowed equipment to quickly reach Khasab during a time when land transport was difficult.

Furthermore, MB works on the Kiswat Eid initiative each year, where MB helps provide families facing difficulties with Eid clothing, particularly for orphans. This helps ensure that they can enjoy the Eid celebration without feeling left out.

MB also sponsored conferences for the Oman Eyes Association as well as a conference by the local disabled center to help expand the network of support available to people with disabilities, as part of MB’s belief that the community must be recognized and empowered.
