Dr. Mohammed Al Barwani
Chairman of MB Holding
Dr. Barwani, is the founder, owner and Chairman of the MB Group.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Miami University,
Ohio, USA, and a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from
Herriott-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. He acquired extensive
experience in the upstream oil industry as a reservoir engineer
employed by PDO (1976-86) (a joint venture between a Shell
International Company and the Government of Oman). Dr. Al Barwani started MB Petroleum Services in 1986 in Oman.
Dr. Al-Barwani
is on the Board of several joint stock companies in Oman
including, Transgulf Investment Holding Company (Chairman), Al
Madina Gulf Insurance Co. (Chairman), Oman Aviation Services Co.
Dr. Al Barwani was on the Board of Directors of the National
Bank of Oman (1997-2005) and Taageer Investment & Leasing Co.
(2001-2005) and Shell Oman Marketing Co. SAOG ( 2001-2006). He
has also been Regional Vice President of the International
Associations of Drilling Contractors. He is also an active
member of Oman-India business association.
